Job Summary
Reporting to Regional Manager, this position is to manage all aspects of the operational facilities and staff at our Acheson facility. Duties to include but not limited to staff selection, training and direction; time sheet processing, vendor negotiations and selection, etc.
Key Competencies:
Leadership & People Management:
Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams across dock, linehaul, and P&D operations. Skilled in building accountability, fostering engagement, and maintaining a strong safety culture.
Operational Execution:
Deep understanding of LTL terminal operations including dock scheduling, trailer utilization, and local delivery routing.
Service & Quality Management:
Focused on achieving service commitments, minimizing claims and damages, and ensuring consistent customer satisfaction.
Safety & Compliance:
Strong knowledge of federal and provincial transportation regulations, hours of service, and workplace safety standards
Demonstrated ability to enforce and maintain compliance with all company and regulatory requirements.
Analytical & Problem Solving:
Skilled in identifying service failures, operational inefficiencies, and cost drivers, and implementing corrective actions quickly.
Financial & Resource Management:
Experience managing operating budgets, P&L responsibility, and performance KPIs (cost per shipment, on-time %, claims ratio, etc.).
Communication & Collaboration:
Effective communicator with frontline staff, drivers, customers, and senior leadership. Able to align terminal goals with company strategy.

What a successful candidate will bring:
- Transportation experience required – LTL experience preferred
- Management experience required
- Professional attitude in all interactions representing Overland West Freight Lines
- Excellent communication skillsBasic geographical knowledge of Northern AB/BC/NWT/YT
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office software - Outlook, Excel, WordAbility to learn and operate within our in house tracking and billing software
