This position is required to work in person at Burlington Student Theatre and the Burlington Performing Arts Centre. Work location is subject to change at the discretion of the City due to operational demands.
Position Overview
The City of Burlington is accepting applications to assist with Summer 2025 Performing Arts and Theatre camps. Play your part in an inclusive day camp program for children aged 6-15. We are hiring for the following:
- Assistant, Programs RCC (formerly Program Attendants)
Responsibilities
Program Staff are responsible for planning and implementing creative and varied programs to meet the needs and interests of all participants. Successful applicants will be responsible for the safety and supervision of participants both on and offsite and are expected to implement and participate in activities.
Requirements
Program Staff must have the following qualifications or be in the process of obtaining, at their own expense:
- Standard First Aid and CPR level C certification
The ideal candidate will have experience working with children in a recreational setting. This position requires the individual to have confidence, patience, time management, strong communication and organization skills. The ideal candidate will be creative, experienced in performing arts and demonstrate both active learning and active listening. It is important that the candidate is aware of others’ reactions and understanding behaviours and is able to provide an experience of inclusivity to all ages and abilities.
Some physical exertion is required, which may include setting up the program space and moving program equipment.
Police Check Requirement
This position requires the successful candidate to provide a clear criminal record check with a vulnerable sector screening at their own expense.
