Responsibilities
- Evaluate and advise on existing distribution and sales offers for the documentary
- Identify and connect with reputable international sales agents, distributors, and partners
- Negotiate distribution and sales agreements to maximize the film’s value and reach
- Provide strategic guidance on positioning the documentary for international markets
- Liaise with legal and business affairs to ensure contract compliance and protect the project’s interests
- Maintain clear communication with the production team regarding progress and opportunities
- Monitor industry trends and leverage established relationships to secure optimal outcomes
Skills And Requirements
- Demonstrated experience as a producer’s representative or in a similar role within the documentary film sector
- Proven track record of negotiating international distribution and sales deals for feature documentaries
- Strong network of contacts among sales agents, distributors, and industry partners worldwide
- In-depth understanding of the global documentary marketplace and current distribution models
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and strategic advisory skills
- Ability to work independently and deliver results under tight deadlines
- Fluency in English; proficiency in Spanish or other languages is a plus
- Availability for a full-time contract engagement, with flexibility to accommodate urgent project timelines
