Job Summary
The Team:
The Workplace Health and Safety Branch (WHS) is an established team providing the BC Public Service with health planning and promotion, occupational safety, health and rehabilitation, and disability benefits administration services. With 13 Occupational Health Nurses (OHNs) across regional offices in Vancouver, Victoria, and Kamloops, we collaborate with ministries, agencies, and external employers, alongside Injury Recovery Specialists, Occupational Health Physicians, Medical Case Analysts, and Disability Case Specialists. Our mission is to build a culture of safety and health, supporting public service managers and employees in managing their health and improving workforce productivity.
The Role:
As an Occupational Health Nurse (OHN) 7, you will manage disability cases, providing advice, support, and resource coordination for employees and their supervisors, with a focus on early intervention to help employees return to sustainable work safely and quickly. You will deliver clinical case management services aligned with current occupational health nursing ethics and practice guidelines. Collaborating with a diverse and integrated team of Disability Case Specialists, Injury Recovery Specialists, and Medical Case Analysts, you will be part of a supportive environment dedicated to improving health outcomes and making a meaningful impact on the workforce.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Registered Nurse, or a Nursing Degree from an approved School of Nursing.
- Occupational Health Nursing Education OR equivalent Occupational Health education.
- Must have or be immediately eligible to obtain registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), formerly known as the College of Registered Nurses' of British Columbia (CRNBC).
- Six (6) months or more of occupational health nursing experience.
- Six (6) months or more of disability case management experience.
Preference may be given to candidates with:
- Certificate in occupational health nursing OHN(C) and/or specialized training in occupational health.
- Active membership in an occupational health nurses’ professional practice group and participation in continuing education, related to disability case management.

About this Position:
This position can be based out of any of the location(s) listed above.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 5 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
There are some onsite requirements.
The employer is willing to pay a starting salary in the upper range of the Nurse 7 salary range depending on qualifications and years of experience and in accordance with the employer policies.
The days and hours of work for this position are Monday – Friday during core business hours.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
Relocation assistance may be offered as set out in the employer policies.
This position is excluded from union membership.
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) will be required.
Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
