Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Law Clerk or Legal Assistant to support one Partner in our Insurance Defence Litigation practice. This role suits a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced legal environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage litigation files from intake to trial
- Prepare file briefs, medical and litigation summaries
- Coordinate with parties to obtain productions and manage undertakings
- Assist with discovery preparations and draft mediation, settlement, and motion materials
- Maintain filing systems and track court deadlines
- Liaise with clients, counsel, and court staff
- Support billing and administrative tasks
Qualifications:
- Law Clerk Diploma, ILCO Certificate, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in civil litigation, preferably in insurance defence
- Knowledge of Ontario Superior Court procedures , including CaseLines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with Primafact and ACL is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organization and time management
- Ability to work independently and adapt to shifting priorities
