The Education Media Designer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality educational media assets that align with institution's goals and enhance learner engagement. This role combines expertise in graphic design, multimedia production, and instructional principles to create effective, inclusive, and engaging digital content across platforms.
Major Accountabilities/Responsibilities (Including but not limited to the following):
- Collaborate with instructional designers and SMEs to identify multimedia strategies aligned with learning outcomes.
- Develop interactive and static media content, including videos, animations, infographics, and e-learning modules using tools like Articulate 360 and Adobe Suite.
- Apply accessibility and UDL standards in all media products.
- Ensure content aligns with institutional brand guidelines and pedagogical best practices.
- Create HTML/CSS-based interactive learning elements and contribute to LMS customization.
- Assist with Moodle course development, content placement, and visual styling.
- Conduct quality assurance reviews of all media and content before publishing.
- Maintain organized digital asset libraries and documentation via platforms such as SharePoint.
- Research emerging edtech tools and propose new media production techniques or tools.
- Support orientation or training sessions by providing clear, media-rich instructional content.
Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Instructional Design, Multimedia Design, Educational Technology, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience designing educational media in a post-secondary or professional training context.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Articulate 360, Canva, and multimedia production.
- Familiarity with LMS platforms, especially Moodle.
- Proficiency in HTML/CSS and basic scripting for media enhancement and LMS customization.
Key Skills
- Strong visual storytelling and graphic design skills.
- Excellent understanding of digital pedagogy and adult learning principles.
- Strong organization, time management, and project coordination.
- Ability to work independently and lead media initiatives within a cross-functional team.
