Licensed Associate to Ass. Portfolio Manager
About the role
This role enriches members' lives by providing support the Associate Portfolio Manager with the preparation of financial plans and other related analyses for clients along with corresponding reporting, presentations, trading, monitoring and administration for clients of SunCu Financial Services. The incumbent will also respond to adhoc client portfolio inquiries, meet with clients, and maintain and grow the book of of business through relationship building and discovery with existing clients.
The preferred candidate holds the QAFP (Qualified Associate Financial Planner or CFP (Certified Financial Planner) designations as well as an Investment License. Life license is an asset. In addition, the ideal candidate will have 3 to five years’ experience in a financial planning focused role which involves one or more of the below.

- Using Using financial planning software (e.g. Naviplan, Conquest or equivalent) to create financial plans that were expected to be presented to clients by successful candidate or other team members.
- Meeting with clients to deliver financial planning advice
- Knowledge of financial products and services such as mutual funds, securities, bonds, ETFs, Alternatives, life insurance, etc.
Previous credit union experience would be considered an asset. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered as well as other relevant working experience.
This position requires an individual with strong analytical, organizational and communication skills and a strong attention to detail.. The incumbent will be self-motivated and have excellent administrative, time management, problem solving and prioritizing skills.
