A Snapshot of Your Day As a Service Operations Manager, your day involves driving business growth across the USA and Canada while leading service operations aligned with the Trench Instrument Transformers portfolio. You’ll engage with customers and sales agents to identify new service opportunities, develop strategic business cases, and oversee the execution of service projects. Your technical expertise in instrument transformers and/or high voltage equipment will be essential for understanding customer needs, guiding internal teams, and delivering training. You will also be responsible for managing third-party partners in addressing warranty cases through to final resolution, as well as conducting site inspections to define service scope, prepare quotations, and establish project timelines.

Your Tasks:

  • Lead the identification and pursuit of new service opportunities in the instrument transformer and high voltage equipment scope.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with end customers and sales agents.
  • Develop and present business cases to support service scope expansion and future offerings.
  • Drive commercial negotiations and secure service contracts.
  • Manage service order intake and oversee execution from initiation to completion.
  • Ensure timely delivery, revenue recognition, and payment collection.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to meet project milestones and customer expectations.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to define service scope and technical requirements.
  • Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the service lifecycle.
  • Foster trust and rapport to ensure high levels of satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Provide technical training to customers and partners on service offerings and equipment.
  • Lead warranty cases from initiation through to final resolution, ensuring customer concerns are addressed effectively.
  • Analyze market trends and customer feedback to identify growth opportunities.
  • Lead initiatives to expand the scope of services offered and improve operational efficiency.
  • Provide strategic direction and mentorship to team members involved in service delivery.
  • Represent Trench service business in internal leadership forums and planning sessions.

Requirements:

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in service management, with a strong understanding of instrument transformers and high voltage equipment.
  • Proven business development experience in the power transmission or high voltage equipment sector is essential.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in managing teams and driving cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strong background in sales, customer relationship management, and project execution.
  • Experience in delivering technical training, conducting site inspections, and managing warranty cases.
  • Familiarity with North American utility and Energy markets.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to travel 20–50% across USA and Canada.
  • Experience with ERP system (SAP) and service management tools is a plus.

We offer: In accordance with the Pay Transparency Act, we are committed to providing clear and accessible information about compensation for this role. The expected compensation range for this position is $105,000 – $150,000 / Annually. Actual compensation within this range will be determined based on several job-related factors, including relevant education, depth and breadth of experience, professional certifications or license, specialized skills aligned with the role, and internal equity considerations.
