Opportunity
MacEwan University is seeking two (2) Administrative Assistant III’s for full-time continuing opportunities with the Faculty of Nursing.
The purpose of the position is to support administrators (Chairs, Associate Deans and Dean), and faculty members by providing general office administration, preparation of documents, completing various operations processes (such as calendaring, committee and meeting support) and provision of general reception for students and the public. You will manage information, process transactions, field inquiries and troubleshoot issues and concerns that arise in the Department or Faculty.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing documents for Chairs, Faculty, and other administrators including spreadsheets, databases, word documents and Adobe PDFs;
- Generating reports, processes information requests and tracking completion of specified duties;
- Gathering data from key sources and compiling reports or proposals;
- Performing general human resource processing including data entry of new hires, changes in workload, terminations, tracking of employees and status, and reconciliation of time and labour reporting and supporting onboarding of new hires; and
- Performing asset tracking and support related to computer deployment and collaboration with central Information Technology (IT) services.
SKILLS
You will have:
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications;
- The ability to learn other key software applications and platforms;
- Excellent written, verbal and non-verbal communication skills;
- Proficient organizational skills with keen attention to detail;
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team to complete responsibilities; and
- Familiarity with PeopleSoft would be considered an asset.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum of a diploma in an office related field such as Office Management or other administrative support training.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in the area of office management and administrative support is required.
- Experience in postsecondary education would be considered an asset.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
