Primary Objectives

Reporting to the President & Chief Executive Officer, the Director, Marketing / Growth Marketing leads MedicAlert's marketing function in support of the organization's mission, strategic plan, revenue growth objectives, and brand reputation.

The Director is responsible for developing and executing integrated marketing strategies that support subscriber acquisition, renewals, NAVIVA, partnerships, public awareness, and organizational growth priorities. The role translates organizational priorities into clear marketing plans, campaign roadmaps, performance targets, and operational priorities while ensuring marketing activities are coordinated, measurable, and aligned across the organization. The Director may provide strategic marketing support to the philanthropy team as required.

As the senior marketing leader, the Director is accountable for building a disciplined, performance-driven marketing function with strong planning, cross-functional collaboration, consistent brand execution, reliable reporting, and clear decision-making processes.

Duties & Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited, to:

Strategic Marketing Leadership

Develop and execute MedicAlert's integrated marketing strategy aligned with organizational priorities and revenue objectives. Lead annual, quarterly, and campaign planning across subscriber acquisition, renewals, NAVIVA, partnerships, and public awareness. Establish marketing priorities, performance targets, campaign roadmaps, and reporting rhythms. Advise the President & CEO on marketing performance, investment priorities, risks, and growth opportunities. Contribute to organizational planning, forecasting, and cross-functional decision-making.

Campaign Planning & Revenue Growth

Lead integrated marketing campaigns across digital advertising, email, CRM, content, landing pages, partnerships, and direct response channels. Ensure campaigns are built around clear audience strategies, measurable objectives, operational readiness, and defined success metrics. Monitor campaign performance using data and customer insights to improve acquisition, conversion, renewals, retention, and return on marketing investment. Work closely with Customer Care, Operations, Product, Finance, and Technology to strengthen lead management, customer journeys, and revenue performance. Ensure campaign learnings are documented and incorporated into future planning.

Product, Brand & Content Leadership

Provide strategic oversight for NAVIVA and other product marketing initiatives, ensuring communications are accurate, customer-centred, operationally aligned, and supported by appropriate internal review. Ensure MedicAlert's brand, messaging, and visual identity are consistently applied across all marketing channels. Oversee content strategy, creative development, campaign briefs, and marketing materials that reflect the organization's plain-language, evidence-based, and trust-focused communication standards.

Team Leadership & Marketing Operations

Lead, coach, and develop the marketing team while establishing clear roles, accountability, priorities, and performance expectations. Create an effective departmental operating rhythm through campaign planning, weekly priorities, performance reviews, issue escalation, and post-campaign evaluation. Oversee marketing operations including campaign approvals, CRM coordination, lead tracking, reporting, budgets, vendor management, and continuous process improvement. Ensure appropriate discipline around campaign governance, marketing data, performance reporting, and execution standards.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Build strong working relationships across Product, Customer Care, Operations, Technology, Finance, Fundraising, and Programs. Ensure marketing plans reflect operational readiness, customer insights, privacy and regulatory considerations, organizational priorities, and enterprise risks. Support cross-functional launch readiness for campaigns that impact customer experience, service delivery, or operational capacity. Maintain a strong understanding of MedicAlert's products, services, audiences, and strategic priorities. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related discipline; equivalent experience may be considered. Seven to ten years of progressive marketing leadership experience, preferably within subscription, membership, healthcare, social impact, or direct-to-consumer organizations. Demonstrated success developing and executing integrated marketing strategies that deliver measurable business growth. Demonstrated understanding of digital marketing, CRM, marketing automation, paid media, email marketing, customer journey optimization, analytics, and performance reporting. Experience leading multidisciplinary marketing teams, agencies, vendors, and cross-functional initiatives. Exceptional analytical, financial, project management, and organizational skills with the ability to translate business priorities into effective marketing plans. Excellent communication, leadership, coaching, relationship management, and decision-making skills. Demonstrated experience with HubSpot or comparable CRM and marketing automation platforms is required. Experience in healthcare, emergency response, aging, charitable, membership, or social impact organizations is considered an asset. Bilingual English/French is considered an asset.
