About the role
We are currently recruiting for a Casual Heavy Cleaner to work evenings between 5:00pm to 12:00am (On-Call Shifts).
Reporting to the Cleaning Supervisor, the Heavy Cleaner is primarily responsible for the general cleaning of designated areas such as classrooms, offices, washrooms, change-rooms, hallways, other rooms, and using equipment for wax stripping, re-sealing, re-waxing, and buffing of floors.
Responsibilities:
- Dusting furniture and walls
- Garbage removal
- vacuuming and mopping
- Assisting in snow removal
- Assisting in late night event cleaning
- Carrying a cell phone for emergency and alarm monitoring situations
- Assisting maintenance
Qualifications:
The successful candidate should have:
- Experience using floor machines
- Experience Stripping and Waxing Floors
- Understanding of WHMIS and Health and Safety
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
- Customer Service when supporting external events and campus functions
- Ability to pass a Criminal Background Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening
