Job Description

In your new role, you will report to the Senior Director of our Finance team. This role plays a leadership role within the Canadian finance team. The role’s primary focus is driving value through Supply Finance while supporting key controllership activities. This role leads financial oversight across procurement-related spend, vendor funding, costing, accruals, and supply chain analytics and serves as a finance partner to Supply Chain, Procurement, and Commercial leaders, delivering financial accuracy, compliance, and insightful decision-making. This position supports broader financial governance, risk management, and audit readiness in partnership with the Controllership team. You will require strong analytical, operational, and leadership capabilities to drive performance and value creation.

Leads Supply Finance Operations:

  • Oversees the Supply Finance function, ensuring the implementation of effective processes to manage accruals, data integration from vendors, and the accounts receivable process.
  • Oversees financial planning, analysis, and reporting for all supply chain functions, including vendor programs, inbound costing, logistics accruals, and related COGS elements. Collaborates closely with Procurement and Commercial Finance teams to manage Vendor Discount Agreements (VDAs), rebates, and deductions.

Leads Vendor Finance Strategy & Partnership:

  • Develops and maintains strategic finance frameworks for key vendor partnerships. Leads the optimization of vendor terms and funding through analytical insights and compliance review. Aligns vendor negotiations with business objectives and margin goals.
  • Works closely with Procurement and BP&A teams to optimize Vendor Discount Agreements (VDAs) and enhance vendor relationships through improved compliance and data-driven decision-making.

Leads Supply Finance Advanced Forecasting & Analytics:

  • Drives forecasting and analytics for supply-related spend and rebates. Leads monthly cost reviews and scenario planning using data-driven models. Identifies trends, variances, and opportunities to optimize supply chain financial performance.
  • .Leads the adoption of advanced analytics and forecasting techniques within the Supply Finance function. Utilizes big data and machine learning models to optimize spend planning, refine vendor performance insights, and forecast more accurately, enhancing financial decision-making and operational efficiency.

Supports Controllership & Financial Governance:

  • Supports financial governance over inventory, accounts payable, and accruals related to supply chain and vendor activities. Partners with Controllership to maintain compliance with internal controls. Provides audit support for supply-related areas.

Manages/Leads am Facilitates Development / Performs Cross-functional Finance Leadership role:

  • Acts as a financial business partner to cross-functional leaders across Supply Chain, Procurement, Commercial, and Corporate Finance. Delivers insights and recommendations that guide operational and strategic decisions.
  • Lead a team of analysts or finance professionals (direct or indirect reports), fostering a collaborative, high-performance environment. Mentor team members and provide developmental feedback.

Contributes to Projects & Transformation:

  • Contributes to finance transformation initiatives, such as automation of accrual processes, ERP improvements, or supply chain finance tools. Supports special projects including new product launches, cost restructuring, or process improvement efforts.

  • Models safety mindset and leads team ensuring work is performed safely.
  • Attends and completes required training

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education (Bachelor’s degree) in Business, Finance or Accounting and CPA required OR a proven track-record in similar roles for 8+ years.

  • Minimum 7 years of progressive finance experience, including 3–5 years in supply chain finance or cost accounting. Ideally, this functional experience would be between 7 – 10 years.

  • Experience with vendor funding, inventory costing, FP&A, and/or commercial finance preferred.

  • Experience managing a team or project leadership with cross-functional exposure.

  • CPA required OR a proven track-record in similar roles for 8+ years.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite

  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and data analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.)

  • Familiarity with forecasting, accrual modeling, and variance analysis

  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills

  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities

  • Ability to operate independently, manage complexity, and prioritize effectively

  • Demonstrated ability to improve processes and drive efficiencies

  • Comfortable working in a matrixed and fast-paced environment

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence across functions and levels.

  • Ability to perform the role in both languages proficiently (English/French) is very strong asset.
