The Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Project Specialist for a permanent role, ideal for someone with advanced expertise in project management, business analysis, and organizational change management. You will lead high-impact IT projects and mentor team members, supporting both project delivery and professional growth.
The Ideal Candidate
As a Senior Project Specialist, you will:
- Lead and mentor project teams, sharing best practices and supporting professional development.
- Deliver complex IT projects, including planning, budgeting, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
- Analyze and gather technical and non-technical requirements and manage scope to prevent scope creep.
- Develop and implement organizational change management frameworks, facilitate workshops, and coach teams through transitions.
- Prepare project proposals, business cases, present at IT governance forums, and provide strategic guidance for IT programs and policy development.
- Be client-focused, analytical, organized, adaptable, creative, and respectful.
- Thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with changing priorities and tight deadlines.
- Write, explain, and present technical information to a variety of non-technical groups in a simple, clear, and concise manner.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders, including executive leadership, vendors, and partner agencies.
You will have knowledge of:
- Advanced knowledge of project management, business analysis, and change management best practices.
- Experience with IT governance, strategic planning, and policy development.
- Proficiency with Microsoft tools (DevOps, SharePoint) and data analytics.
- Strong leadership, communication, and relationship management skills.
- Adaptability and a client-focused approach in a fast-paced environment.
Typically, the knowledge, skills and abilities required to be successful in this position would have been obtained through:
- Degree in information technology-related discipline (Computer Science, Commerce, or Business Administration), and/or
- Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Business Analyst Professional (CBAP), Prosci Change Management Certification, or equivalent.
- Significant related experience in project management, business analysis, and change management, including leadership and mentorship roles.
