As a key strategic partner, you’ll collaborate with senior leaders across Sales, Service, Supply Chain, Pricing, and Marketing to ensure our mining technology solutions—spanning autonomous systems, fleet management, and real-time data analytics—are positioned to meet evolving customer and industry demands. You’ll translate complex operational needs into actionable sales strategies, driving revenue growth, expanding market share, and supporting profitability targets. This role also provides strategic guidance to the sales execution team and serves as the primary liaison with Caterpillar’s Mining Technology group, ensuring alignment on joint initiatives, product roadmaps, and long-term innovation goals.

We are seeking a candidate with a degree in Mining Engineering who is registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with their provincial engineering association. Candidates with other engineering disciplines and relevant experience in related fields are also encouraged to apply. The role typically requires 3–5 years of industry experience, with a strong foundation in engineering principles and practical application.

Job Description: Major Job Functions: Strategic Planning & Alignment (20%)

  • Provide strategic leadership for parts selling execution across various industry verticals while working with leaders from other functional departments (Supply Chain, Service, Operations, Sales, Pricing & Marketing) to ensure strategic objectives have alignment across the business and are executed on effectively. Alignment with external partners (Caterpillar, third party suppliers, and in some cases customers) is essential in this role as proper vender management is critical to success. Also, as part of this function, ensuring a forward-looking lens is applied to the business, leveraging data insights and front-line customer feedback to develop proactive solutions for our diverse customer base.
  • Product line/industry forecasting and parts planning. The Product Manager is a vested owner of the long-term product forecast, market share projection and Finning’s stocking strategy for each respective product.
  • Success in this area will be to ensure that there is an approved strategic framework in place to grow our product lines and provide unique and customized solutions that drive sustained product growth.

Product and Program Management (35%)

  • Ensure the product portfolio delivers against revenue and profit targets that are aligned to market conditions. This entails direct accountability for business development objectives within each Minestar product or solution design and sales force enablement.
  • Considered the primary resource for the commercialization within product groups, application, industry segments, and overall go-to-market strategy. May provide commercial and technical sales training across the enterprise.
  • Is a critical stakeholder in product solutioning specific to Minestar product updates, commercial support, and planning.
  • Understanding and continuous pursuit towards improving Finning’s knowledge and position within the competitive landscape
  • Success in this space will largely reside in the development of strategy for major product groups and the overall growth in market share. Frameworks for how to effectively manage products, leveraging data insights to target opportunities, understanding industry trends and activating competitive landscapes will all be used to create products and solutions that enable revenue and market share growth.

Lead Generation, Prospecting, and Timely Customer Solutioning (45%)

  • Activation of customized solutions to augment Finning’s competitive advantages to win opportunities. Cross-collaboration across multiple lines of business will be key to providing solutions that meet customer expectations and provide compelling product advantages.
  • Assist in the generation and prospecting of opportunities across the territory. This entails a detailed understanding and analysis of the existing sales funnel in addition to uncovering major opportunities identified by working with the business intelligence team.
  • Regular cadence of touchpoints with sales reps across the organization to optimize product commercialization.

Education & Experience

  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering, or a related field, with minimum 3-5+ years of relevant Mining industry experience.
  • Technical product or application experience in mining technology is considered a strong asset.
  • Proven leadership in sales, marketing, product management, or sales operations, with a track record of motivating teams and delivering results.
  • Strong strategic planning skills with the ability to translate complex business challenges into actionable solutions.
  • Demonstrated success in building customer relationships and industry networks, including with Caterpillar and other key stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of market dynamics and the ability to align technology and marketing strategies to customer needs.
  • Skilled in business case development, project management, and leading change initiatives.
  • Solid commercial acumen and working knowledge of go-to-market strategies, product positioning, and industry trends.
  • Effective communicator with persuasive presentation skills across all levels of seniority.
  • Highly collaborative and influential, with the ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments.
