About the role
The chosen applicant will be responsible for providing post-sales Avionics (AVS) and Data Transfer and Diagnostic System (DTADs) technical support and customer service to the RCAF CC130J Hercules Fleet operated and maintained at 8 Wing Trenton. This position will work directly with the Lockheed Martin Contractor Field Office (CFO) at Trenton. Individual will be required to provide afterhours duty support once every four weeks for a seven day duration.
Responsibilities
- Avionics Technical Support
- Provide technical solutions to complex CC-130J avionics system problems/issues;
- Support interpretation and application of approved maintenance programs;
- Assist RCAF technicians with technical manuals, schematics, drawings, and engineering data.
- Systems responsible for:
- Communications
- Navigation
- Radar
- Instrumentation
- Electrical power distribution
- Data management systems
- Support trial kit installations, operational test & evaluation (OT&E), and field modifications.
- Review and provide feedback on engineering change requests (ECRs), service bulletins (SBs), and modification packages.
- Regularly review maintenance records to identify trends.
- Use available data points to drive continuous improvement, relating to operational mission readiness, reliability, and sustainability.
- Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor; and
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
- DTADS (Data Transfer and Diagnostic System) SME Responsibilities

Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for DTADS systems on CC-130J aircraft.

Maintain, troubleshoot, and manage customer on board aircraft fault identification software, and support equipment;

Perform version control and software/data integrity management for DTADS systems;

Review post-flight downloads and debrief data to support:
- Fault isolation
- System diagnostics
- Maintenance troubleshooting decisions

Manage secure transfer of DTADS data between:
- Customer (RCAF)
- Lockheed Martin management
- Approved subcontractors.

Capture and process propeller balancing data. Provide customer data for analysis and corrective actions;

Compile monthly fleet data to track aircraft utilization and operational tempo.
- Fleet & Program Support
- Contribute to CC-130J sustainment programs and engineering projects;
- Provide on-site technical representation for engineering and operational activities;
- Support mobile repair teams and off-site maintenance when required;
- Participate and provide viable solutions at customer maintenance meetings;
- Ensure compliance with company policies and technical procedures.
What you bring to the role

Minimum High School diploma
-
A graduate of recognized aircraft maintenance program from an accredited college in a related disciple, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional and technical experience with the C130 Hercules;

Preferred - completed C130J Hercules Avionics (AVS) type course or suitable equivalent experience.

Working knowledge across the aircraft in Maintenance Management System (Data Transfer and Diagnostic System (DTADS).Complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories and concepts, in the field.

In-depth knowledge of aircraft avionics systems including but not limited to communications, navigational, radar, data management, instrument and electrical power distribution systems.

Basic to detailed knowledge in general wiring practices and standards;
-
Must be capable of reading and interpreting technical documentation such as technical manuals, drawings and technical data packages, engineering dispositions and instructions and associated data.

Must have a valid Ontario Driver’s License.

Ability to travel and work on or off-site assisting Mobile Repair Parties.

Ability to work shift work as required.
