About the role
Warehouse Support, duties:
- Ensures that warehouse and staging area is maintained, clean and organized at all times.
- Responsible for cycle counting and pulling kits for shipments.
- Assist Shipping, Receiving and Lead hand as required.
- Performs other duties as requested.
Back up for Shipping duties include:
- Picking goods from warehouse using proper lifting equipment to fill customer orders.
- Identify and confirm correct parts are being shipped according to the customer order.
- Capable of safely operating a fork truck and loading transport trucks.
- Assembles shipping paperwork and completes computer input - Visual Manufacturing Software experience is a definite asset.
- Visually inspect products/parts that are being shipped as the last point of quality assurance.
Qualifications:
- 4 - 6 years’ experience in a manufacturing shipping/receiving department is an asset.
- Basic math and counting skills are required as well as possessing good computer skills.
- Must have high attention to details, immediate deadlines and able to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Previous fork truck certification experience is a must.
- Overhead crane experience an asset.
- Can prioritize and multi-task efficiently, good organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment or individually.
- Good physical capability as some lifting is required and a “can do” attitude is a definite asset.
- Must be able to show proof of Grade 12 diploma.
Work Conditions:
This is a physical position that requires:
- Continuous standing for extended periods of time.
- Some heavy lifting, carrying and handling of objects.
- Regular use of hands, wrists, arms, shoulders, bending/stretching, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, walking, pushing/pulling.
- Repetitive motion and other job specific requirements.
- Precise hand/finger movements.
- Physical Environment: Regular exposure to factors such as temperature fluctuations, moving machinery, loud noise, and dusty environments.
- Sensory Attention: Need to give close attention with hearing or seeing to work surroundings. Must be able to handle exposure to different smells that may occur in the workplace.
- Must be able to wear prescribed PPE that the company requires safety glasses, hearing protection, work boots/shoes and respiratory protection (depending upon job) etc.
- Safety Sensitive Position: This position is a safety sensitive position and if it is not performed in a safe manner, can cause direct and significant damage to property, and/or injury to the employee and others around them.
Requirements:
- A valid driver’s license or transportation required as Cathcart location is not on a bus route.
- We are located 10 minutes East from Woodstock and 7 minutes West of Burford.
