About the role

Your Opportunity:

Description:

As a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist I, you will produce and record magnetic resonance images for interpretation by a Radiologist or Cardiologist for the purpose of diagnosis and tracking of disease and pathology. You will produce high quality diagnostic MRI images as ordered by a Physician, prepare and position patients for examination, review patient history, explain procedures, respond to the physical and psychological needs of patients throughout the scanning procedure, and maintain MRI equipment.

Main Responsibilities

  • Produce and record magnetic resonance images for interpretation by a Radiologist or Cardiologist.
  • Produce high quality diagnostic MRI images as ordered by a Physician.
  • Prepare and position patients for examination.
  • Review patient history.
  • Explain procedures to patients.
  • Respond to the physical and psychological needs of patients throughout the scanning procedure.
  • Maintain MRI equipment.

Required Qualifications

  • Completion of diploma from an accredited Medical Resonance Imaging (MRI) Program required or completion of certificate from an accredited MRI Technologist program plus a diploma from an accredited Program in Medical Radiology, Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ultrasound), Nuclear Medicine or Radiation Therapy.
  • Active or eligible for registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT).
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).
