As Director, Community Support and Women's Services you will play a pivotal leadership role in shaping the future of mental health and addictions are in Thames Valley, with a special focus on stewarding and elevating our Women's Services.
This position is about more than leading programs - it's about championing people and communities with purpose. As the public face of Women's Services, you will amplify the voices and needs of women and gender diverse individuals, advocating fiercely for their rights to accessible, safe and responsive care. This role includes building strong relationships with community partners, funders, elected officials, and people with lived and living experience; engaging in thoughtful lobbying and policy advocacy; and navigating the evolving political landscape of mental health and addictions in Ontario.

WHAT WE'RE OFFERING:
- What you'll be making - $53.06-$58.31 per hour
- When you'll work - 70 hours over two-week period; Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm
- What your benefits will be – After a 90-day waiting period, will be eligible for extended healthcare benefits
- Your pension plan – Immediately enrolled in Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP)
HOW YOU WILL BE MAKING A DIFFERENCE:
Strategic Leadership & Community Partnerships:
- Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with community organizations and government entities to expand resources and support for services.
- Collaborate with other departmental leaders to ensure the maintenance of high visibility in local communities (representation at local tables, where appropriate).
- Advocate for policy changes and funding that support the expansion and sustainability of services.
- Serve as the public face of Women's Services, representing the organization with professionalism, compassion, and credibility; participate in speaking engagements and public relations opportunities to bring awareness and attention to the service needs in our communities.
- Work collaboratively with the Senior Leadership Team and Extended Leadership Team to develop new initiatives to support strategic direction of the organization and initiatives that contribute to risk management.
- Conduct regular meetings with, and collaborate on research initiatives with partners at the local, provincial and nationals levels in relation to agency vision, mission and values.
Teamwork:
- Actively engage in learning opportunities, meetings, and organizational events.
- Support colleagues by providing privacy expertise and guidance in complex situations.
- Contribute to the ongoing development and growth of the organization by identifying opportunities for improvement in program delivery.
Quality, Risk and Performance:
- Ensure services comply with all relevant legislation, accreditation, and professional standards
- Ensure the delivery of services operate within the policies and procedures of the organization
- Identify and mitigate operational and clinical risks in collaboration with the System Performance and Enterprise Risk Management Departments.
- Establish processes to ensure the quality of the day-to-day delivery of services; evaluate activities and effectiveness to maintain or improve quality.
- Utilize data to inform continuous improvement of services, ensuring alignment with the standards of the Mental Health and Addictions Centre of Excellence.
- Use data collection tools to capture the program's performance and results, including data reporting, baseline and assessment, analysis and monitoring for process and outcome evaluations. Work collaboratively with relevant stakeholders to develop program outcome indicators and utilize metrics to assess and drive performance, ensuring objectives are met.
People Leadership:
- Determine staffing requirements for effective program delivery.
- With leadership tables, establish a positive, healthy, and safe work environment in accordance with all appropriate legislation and regulations
- Consciously create a workplace culture that is consistent with the organization and that emphasizes the identified mission, vision , guiding principles of care, and values of the organization
- Work with the People Services department & Manager(s) where required to recruit, train and place staff
- Work closely with the People Services department and Manager(s) to evaluate performance, set appropriate performance standards that align with appropriate key performance indicators to track team member and program performance Support, mentor and coach future leaders and Manager(s) to successfully fulfil their roles
Financial and Resource Management:
- Develop and manage departmental budgets, in collaboration with the finance team and VP.
- Monitor expenditures, resource utilization, and funding agreements to ensure fiscal responsibility and sustainability.
- Support the development of funding proposals and business cases for program enhancements or new initiatives.
- In collaboration with the VP, and Communications and Fund Development teams, secure additional financial or community resources to ensure the long-term viability of programs and services. Reports budget variance and resource requirements in a timely fashion.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO APPLY:
Criminal Record Check Requirements
Successful candidates must have a Criminal Record Check completed in the last six months. Interested applicants who reside in the City of London and are in need of a Criminal Record Check (CRC) are encouraged to apply for one as soon as possible as CRC's in the City of London are currently taking approximately 2 weeks to be processed and offers of employment cannot be made without receipt of a CRC.
We require the following qualifications:
- University degree or college diploma in relevant field of study (required) ( Primary proof of credentials will be required during the hiring process, i.e. an original degree/diploma/certificate or official transcript; for ongoing education, an unofficial transcript will be accepted)
- Minimum of five years’ experience in a leadership / supervisory / management capacity
- Valid drivers licence and access to a reliable vehicle to carry out job duties
- Clear, current Criminal Record Check (CRC)
- Demonstrated ability to attend work regularly
- Demonstrated ability to establish a high level of rapport with senior leaders in various levels of government, social housing partners and other relevant stakeholders and funding partners
- Knowledge and understanding of philosophies, practices, models and frameworks associated with Ontario’s London Hub plan
We prefer the following qualifications:
- Masters Degree in a relevant field of study
- Experience in developing and overseeing mental health and addictions programs within the non-profit sector
- Experience with, and detailed knowledge of, mental health and addictions work
- Experience with navigating funding agreements
- Experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
