About the role
Are you a confident clinical leader ready to take the next step in your veterinary career with the opportunity for future ownership?
North Bay Animal Hospital is seeking a Managing Veterinarian to lead our well-established, community-loved practice while shaping its next chapter of growth.
This is more than a leadership role—it’s a chance to influence medical standards, mentor a strong team, and explore equity/ownership potential in a thriving hospital, all while enjoying exceptional work-life balance in one of Northern Ontario’s most beautiful communities.
About Us
North Bay Animal Hospital is a modern, well-equipped small animal practice supported by a dedicated team of three DVMs and seven skilled support staff. Our hospital is thoughtfully designed to support high-quality medicine and efficient workflows, with five spacious exam rooms, an in-house IDEXX laboratory, fully equipped surgical suites, dedicated dental stations, and advanced diagnostic capabilities. We offer a comprehensive range of services, including preventative and wellness care, soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, advanced dentistry, rehabilitation and pain management, hospice and end-of-life care, as well as nutrition and chronic disease management.
At the heart of our practice is a collaborative, respectful, and patient-focused team culture. We value open communication, shared decision-making, and fostering an environment where both our people and the pets we care for can truly thrive.
The Opportunity
As Managing Veterinarian, you will play a dual role—providing excellent clinical care while leading and supporting the medical team. You’ll work closely with hospital leadership and NVA Canada partners to guide medical direction, elevate standards of care, and help drive long-term success.
What truly sets this role apart:
- Potential buy-in/ownership opportunity
- Strong operational and administrative support
- Ability to shape medical protocols and team development
- A stable, established practice with room to grow
We offer a competitive and comprehensive compensation package designed to support both your professional and personal goals. This includes a highly competitive salary, signing and retention bonuses, health and dental benefits for both full-time and part-time employees, RRSP matching, paid vacation, and a continuing education allowance. Relocation assistance is available for out-of-area candidates, along with access to leadership development and mentorship opportunities. For the right candidate, this role also offers a meaningful equity and ownership pathway.
