- Administration 16: Salaries typically range from $74,297 to $99,063 annually, based on qualifications and experiences, plus a performance-based incentive.
Location:
- Export Development Canada operates in a hybrid work environment, with a current requirement oftwoin-office days per week, increasing to three days per week in September 2026**(subject to change)**.
- This role can be performed from EDC’s headquarters in Ottawa.
- Relocation assistance is available for candidates who meet the eligibility criteria.

Team Overview:
The Senior Executive Assistant plays a pivotal role in enabling leadership effectiveness and execution at the most senior level of the organization. By anticipating needs, synthesizing complex information, and ensuring the SVP/CEO is fully prepared to engage on critical priorities, this role directly supports sound decision making and organizational momentum.
Beyond executive readiness, the Sr. EA acts as a project management enabler—helping translate strategic priorities into coordinated plans, tracking actions and dependencies across initiatives, and driving follow-through with senior leaders. As an essential contributor, the Sr. EA maintains focus among competing demands, supports disciplined execution, and ensures progress on enterprise wide priorities that advance EDC’s mandate. The Sr. EA provides strategic, proactive, and independent support to a Senior Vice-President (SVP) or the President and CEO (CEO). This role goes beyond traditional administrative support and acts as a trusted partner who helps advance business objectives, ensuring executive readiness, and enabling effective decision-making in a fast-paced, complex environment.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, forward-thinking, and comfortable operating with ambiguity. They anticipate needs, connect information across the organization, and exercise sound judgment and discretion at all times.
What you will be doing:
**1-**Advancing Business Objectives
- Partner closely with the SVP/CEO to help move business priorities forward.
- Prepare and coordinate Monthly Business Review (MBR) and/or other senior leadership forums, including:
o Developing agendas aligned to strategic objectives
o Coordinating and consolidating materials from multiple stakeholders
o Capturing decisions, outcomes, and action items
o Driving follow-up with Vice-Presidents and senior leaders to ensure accountability and progress
**2-**Executive Readiness & Strategic Support

Act as an independent, trusted advisor who anticipates the SVP/CEO’s needs.

Proactively prepare the SVP/CEO for key internal and external meetings by:
o Tracking down and synthesizing essential documents and background materials
o Connecting the dots across issues, stakeholders, and priorities
o Highlighting risks, dependencies, and decision points
o Prepare briefing notes, presentations, talking points, and summaries as required.
Calendar, Meetings & Office Management

Proactively manage the SVP/CEO’s calendar to ensure effective use of time and alignment with priorities.

Coordinate meetings, events, and offsites, including ownership of logistics, agendas, and materials.

Manage the flow of information through the SVP/CEO’s office, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution.

Coordinate travel including bookings, expense management and materials.
Stakeholder & Relationship Management

Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with internal executives, Executive Assistants, and key partners.

Serve as a professional point of contact with external stakeholders, exercising discretion and diplomacy.
Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement
-
Work independently to resolve issues, prioritize competing demands, and make sound decisions.

Identify opportunities to improve administrative processes, systems, and ways of working.

Maintain records, documents, and information repositories with accuracy and confidentiality.
What we are looking for:

Completion of secondary school.
-
Minimum 7 years’ experience in administrative/clerical field
-
Minimum of 5 years’ of proven of experience working at the Executive level
-
Advanced proficiency with standard office and collaboration tools (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).

Experience in using social media (for example, LinkedIn)
-
Significant experience in a senior executive assistant or comparable role supporting executive leadership.
-
Demonstrated ability to operate with strong initiative and independence.
-
Exceptional prioritization and organizational skills in a dynamic, ambiguous environment.

Strong judgment, discretion, and professionalism when handling sensitive matters.
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
-
Ability to synthesize complex information and present it clearly and concisely.

Collaborative mindset with the confidence to challenge, influence, and follow through.
