About the role

Position Summary

The Shop Foreman is primarily responsible for managing the allocation of shop personnel to ensure the efficient flow of materials through various shop operations. This role requires close collaboration with the Operations Team to identify and schedule upcoming material demands, ensuring seamless delivery to our clients. The Shop Foreman must be able to identify process bottlenecks and implement measures to resolve them before they impact operations.

Responsibilities

  • Apply warehousing best practices, including**First-In, First-Out (FIFO)**inventory control.
  • Read and interpretjob sheets and equipment packagesbased on client requirements.
  • Use theGAMS inventory systemto create shipments, assign equipment to jobs, receive returned equipment, and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Maintain knowledge ofTDG regulations, including required documentation and proper load securement.
  • Performcleaning, general maintenance, bump testing, and calibrationof gas detection equipment, including 4-head monitors, pump monitors, mesh guard systems, and relay kits.
  • Conductmaintenance, cleaning, and inspectionof breathing air systems, including air trailers, bulkers, smart packs, and blinding carts.
  • Performcleaning, maintenance, and testingof breathing air (BA) equipment, including cylinders, regulators, masks, and reducers for SCBA and SABA units.
  • FollowUSL standardsfor cleaning, receiving fleet trucks, completing paperwork, and communicating with the Fleet Manager.
  • Completequarterly facility inspections.
  • Performsnow removal and general yard maintenanceas required.

Requirements

  • Eligible to work in Canada
  • Local candidates within Grande Prairie area
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License (Non GDLs)
  • Pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
  • Possess current H2S Alive, 2-day Standard First Aid, and Common Safety Orientations (CSO) safety tickets
  • Able to successfully complete specialized paid training by United Safety
