About the role
We are seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to join our client’s manufacturing team in Vancouver, BC .
Responsibilities:
- Creating automation design documents, including state flows, sequences, and control narratives.
- Delivering full control-system packages for water treatment plants, including I/O lists, PLC logic, and HMI layouts.
- Building user-friendly system simulations and leading end-to-end testing.
- Supporting system commissioning and resolving automation issues.
- Integrating third-party equipment using Modbus, Ethernet/IP, and other industrial protocols.
- Working with Process-Control Engineers to align control narratives and close process/control gaps.
- Traveling as needed for onsite start-up and commissioning.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, or Mechatronics Engineering .
- 3–5 years of experience with PLC/HMI programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar)
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registration with EGBC , or eligibility to obtain it.
- Strong proficiency in English communication , both written and verbal.
