TERM/STATUS:
Temporary Full Time
SCHEDULE/HRS:
Flex based schedule // 37.5 hours per week
HOURLY WAGE:
$22.00
THE ROLE:
The Career Development Counsellor will work with our Employment Services team to support adults and transitioning youth with developmental disabilities and barriers to employment to prepare for, seek and/or maintain employment. The successful candidate will assist with a variety of tasks and activities that support individuals in community based employment. This position is best suited for a highly organized individual with strong interpersonal and communication skills who is seeking a career in Career Development, Community Support, or Human Resources training.
* This position is subject to funding by Canada summer jobs. Position is conditional based on approval of application request by Service Canada.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience:
-
Post-secondary education or training in a related field (Social Services, Human Services, or Education)
-
Must be between ages of 18-30 at intake time, legally entitled to work in Canada
Preferred Experience:
-
Previous experience working with adults with barriers to employment
-
Demonstrated ability to successfully implement instructional and other support programs.

Experience working in a professional team environment
Standard requirements of the Program Worker include:
-
Criminal Record Clearance
-
Medical Clearance
-
Valid First Aid/CPR
-
Demonstrated competency in English
-
Proficient with Microsoft Office 365
-
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and use of a car is an asset

Satisfactory Driver's Abstract
-Must be Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or hold Refugee status
