Reporting to the Director Family Wellness – Service Delivery, the Regional Manager Family Wellness accountable for clinical and managerial leadership to ensure the provision of quality community social work care provided to residents of Nunavut. The incumbent ensures that the wide range of social programs provide by the community social workers meets the needs of client groups in a rapidly growing and changing environment and advancing professional practice competency with the social service staff. The position also represents the region and the department at various committees, tasks forces, and working groups at the regional level.

Responsibilities include directing the integrated delivery of regional social service programs and services in accordance with applicable legislation, departmental policies, guidelines and accepted professional practice and ethics. Ensuring that appropriate levels of professional client services are maintained and that programs are delivered effectively, efficiently and in accordance with professional and departmental standards to individuals, families and communities. Monitoring, evaluating and assigning services for all aspects of the regional administration of the provisions of the Child and Family Services Act, the Adoptions Act, and other relevant legislation in collaboration with other Family Services Staff. Effectively supervising staff and providing a staff development program aimed at improving their skills in the areas of responsibility, community relations and other areas related to social work

The knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this job are usually obtained through an undergraduate degree in Social Work. Four years of experience in the child welfare field including two years of supervisory experience in cross-cultural environment, preferably in Inuit communities is required.

This is a Highly Sensitive Position and a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, along with a clear Vulnerable Sector Check is required.

The Official Languages of Nunavut are Inuktut, English and French. Applicants may submit their resume in any of the official languages of Nunavut. Knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land,Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, Inuktut and experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment are also considered assets.
