Vertex is seeking a driven Shop Foreman to lead and grow our Shop operations in the Nisku, AB region. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader with a solid background in Industrial Cleaning.

Job Description We are currently looking for a Shop Foreman to join our Nisku, AB Vertex Team. We are looking to hire a local candidate.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Managing overall repair and maintenance for light trucks, heavy trucks, trailers, equipment and inventory
  • Responsible to prioritize work, job allocation and job flow in the workshop including job scheduling, allocation for the day-to-day operations and managing operating/staffing costs of the shop
  • Supervising staff daily activities to ensure efficient job performance and timely repairs
  • Supervise accurate shipping and receiving of inventory
  • Review repair orders and inspect the quality of repairs done before release of vehicles and equipment
  • Ensure required vehicle inspections, equipment certificates, annual CVIPs are completed per expiry dates and government regulations
  • Maintain and manage daily records of repairs and services to vehicles and equipment
  • Work with Transportation Compliance and Vertex Fleet to coordinate rentals, permits and out of province reports
  • Ensure the Vertex Fleet receives regular maintenance reports
  • Work with Vertex Procurement team to ensure inventory is kept up to date and communicate when needed
  • Overseeing equipment and inventory is ready for jobs and receiving equipment/inventory back from jobs
  • Ensuring Vertex Accounting is provided consumables used and that jobs are charged for equipment repairs
  • Coordinate third party maintenance/repair shops for scheduling equipment for repairs
  • Understand and demonstrate Vertex’s mission, vision, and values; constantly strive to support Vertex's achievements of corporate goals and objective

Candidate Qualifications

  • Drug & Alcohol Testing (Provided by Vertex)
  • Valid Class 5 drivers license with clean commercial drivers abstract
  • 3-5 years experience in a leadership role
  • Experience/familiar with Industrial Cleaning and Heavy Duty Equipment
  • Excellent leadership and team building skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent organizational skills and record keeping
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be in good health and physical condition to perform duties assigned

Assets to Have

  • Valid Class 1 or 3 drivers license
  • Background/experience with Inventory
