Join CHATS as the
Hoarding Community Support Worker
Full-time position 35 hours weekly
Hybrid work environment
Contract position to December 31, 2026
Working in a community health setting as part of a team focusing on increasing education around hoarding to organizations and the public, as well as supporting services to individuals living with hoarding behaviors.
In this role you will :
- Support community education sessions and group activities
- Network with existing Tenancy Risk Reduction Services program community partners
- Identify potential new partners and assist with developing new service partnerships
- Work with clients one on one, and in support groups
- Assist with administrative tasks
Services are provided both virtually and in person.
CHATS will provide: Personal protective equipment; training and support; paid mileage
Required Skills:
- Social Services Worker Diploma.
- Experience working with clients living with mental health conditions
- Knowledge of hoarding disorder and harm reduction approach
- Experience in community health setting
- Experience facilitating groups and assisting with development and recruitment
- Experience with delivering presentations
- Knowledge of the health care system
- Knowledge of local community resources
- Microsoft office experience
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal/written).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, as well as cooperatively with a team.
- First Aid certification required. Vehicle and valid Ontario driver’s license required.
