Specific Accountabilities:

The incumbent facilitates client support and referrals through various methods such as face-to-face, virtual and telephone interactions, through group and/or individual activities, on and off-campus locations often shared with community partners. The incumbent develops employer leads and connections to support all service delivery components of Lambton College Community Employment Services.

The incumbent is responsible for facilitating information sessions/workshops and general health and safety orientation to clients. In addition, the incumbent is responsible for conducting and participating in employer research, job fairs and other related employer focused events to identify target markets and outreach opportunities.

The role is responsible for achieving individual targets assigned that contribute to the team’s collective ability to meet all contractual obligations with the program’s funder.

These activities may take place on or off site. There is travel throughout Sarnia Lambton weekly for this position. The position is located at the Lambton College Community Employment Services site in Sarnia. This position requires some evening hours.

About the Position:

This position is an Appendix D (temporary) position for a period of 6 months starting November 3, 2025. This position is a unionized position within the full time support staff bargaining unit. The pay for this position is $39.34/hour for 35 hours per week.

In compliance with the funded program guidelines and College policies, and guided by performance targets, the incumbent assists job seekers who are multi- barriered, unemployed and underemployed to explore, access and retain employment and where determined necessary, initiates, develops, and secures direct employment opportunities, meaningful work experience & training placements for unemployed clients. Together with the client, the incumbent develops an individualized Employment Action Service Plan (EAP); provides ongoing monitoring, coaching and adjustments to the EAP to guide the individual through the interventions to ensure preparation for entry and retention in the labour force.

Qualifications:

  • Experience as a consultant working with multi-barriered clients requiring career planning or job search assistance and related placement and employment/career advising experience
  • Experience in job development, community outreach, sales, business development
  • Exceptional relationship building skills with a proven ability to develop rapport with people from all stakeholder groups
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite/Office 365 applications, must possess the aptitude to work with online systems and technologies
  • Demonstrated success working in an environment with set targets contributing to team achievement of contractual outcomes
