Come work as a Palliative Medicine Physician with Vancouver Coastal Health, Canada!
The North Shore Palliative Care team is a rapidly growing, full‑scope Palliative Care team looking after patients in the communities of North and West Vancouver, as well as the Sea to Sky Corridor, in association with Lions Gate Hospital (LGH) and Vancouver Coastal Health. Our focus is to improve quality of life in patients with life‑limiting illnesses. We are a teaching hospital in affiliation with the University of British Columbia, Family Medicine and Palliative Care programs.
They are open to full time or part time applicants, with positions ranging from 0.2 – 1.0 FTE.
We provide care in the following venues:
- Acute/tertiary care (15‑bed Palliative Care Unit at LGH) – specialized multidisciplinary team, admitting (MRP) and consultative services, education and advocacy.
- Ambulatory care clinic – stand‑alone hospice‑focused clinic providing primary and shared palliative care for ambulant patients.
- Community care – collaboration with palliative nurse practitioners, resource nurses, home‑care nurses, social workers, OT, PT and wound‑care staff.
- North Shore Hospice – 15‑bed hospice; admissions handled by palliative physicians only.
Excellent communication skills and a commitment to an inter‑professional care model are mandatory.
Applicants will demonstrate superior patient care, excellent interdisciplinary approach and communication as well as an interest in teaching, quality improvement and program development. Qualifications must include CCFP with Palliative competency (YAC, CAC, or equivalent) or FRCPC with Palliative care subspecialty.

Education, Licensing, & Experience:
- Current College of Physicians of BC (CPSBC) – Full
- Canadian College of Family Practitioners (CCFP) OR Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC) – Mandatory
- Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) – Mandatory
