Job Description Purpose of the role

Accountable for driving national growth of Exembol in UK secondary care.

The role leads the national account strategy and delivers high-quality, compliant promotion to key hospital and network stakeholders.

Success is measured through uptake, prescribing growth, and sustained use of Exembol across priority accounts and regions, translated into Sales

Main Responsibilities and Duties – applicable for allocated territory

  • Deliver national Exembol results: Achieve or exceed national sales, market share and uptake targets for Exembol; manage national account budgets for best ROI.
  • Lead national account strategy: Build and execute focused national account plans for Exembol based on customer insight, epidemiology, market data and stakeholder mapping; refine continuously to maximise growth.
  • Win and expand access (non-tender): Drive formulary positioning, pathway adoption and local access levers for Exembol, coordinating submissions or evidence packages where needed (excluding tender ownership).
  • Develop high-value relationships: Build senior, long-term partnerships with national decision makers and KOLs to shape clinical practice and adoption of Exembol.
  • Drive cross-regional pull-through: Work with other field teams and internal functions to ensure consistent Exembol messaging, implementation of account plans, and sustained prescribing behaviour change.
  • Promote ethically and expertly: Use the Ethypharm/ABPI selling framework to deliver high-impact Exembol engagements, presentations and (where appropriate) educational meetings, maintaining deep clinical, pathway and competitor knowledge.
  • Monitor, report and forecast: Track national account performance and pipeline for Exembol, maintain accurate CRM records, provide clear forecasts and monthly insights with corrective actions.
  • Work cross-functionally: Partner with Marketing, Medical, PV, Customer Service and Supply to deliver aligned Exembol plans and an excellent customer experience.

Scope & interfaces

  • Scope: National responsibility for defined strategic hospital accounts, networks and NHS bodies relevant to Exembol; influence across multiple regions.

  • Key internal interfaces: Hospital National Sales Manager, Marketing, Medical & Pharmacovigilance, Market Access, Customer Service, Supply/Operations, regional KAMs/field teams.

  • External interfaces (examples):

  • Anticoagulation / thrombosis service leads

  • VTE / DVT – PE pathway clinical leads

  • Specialist haematology or cardiology pharmacists

  • Medicines optimisation / formulary committee chairs
