Pacific Cove Properties is a BC-owned and operated property management and development company providing rental accommodation to almost 3000 families and individuals in communities throughout British Columbia, including Metro Vancouver, the Fraser Valley, Vancouver Island, and the Okanagan.

We're seeking a skilled and driven Maintenance Supervisor to lead our residential maintenance team in Surrey, British Columbia. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a well-established property and ensure it continues to operate at peak condition. In this role, you'll oversee daily maintenance operations including repairs and improvements, manage a range of contractor relationships, and ultimately lead a team to uphold the highest standards across the property and suites.

Role and Responsibilities:

Hands-On Maintenance Duties

  • Performing general building repairs, preventative maintenance, and cosmetic touch-ups
  • Completing minor plumbing, drywall, and painting work
  • Replacing light fixtures, lamps, and hardware as needed
  • Assisting with grounds care, snow removal, and seasonal tasks
  • Supporting janitorial upkeep and ensuring cleanliness in common areas
  • Responding promptly to resident maintenance requests and on-site emergencies
  • Moving furniture, equipment, and materials as needed for unit or building prep

Supervisory Duties

  • Assigning and prioritizing work orders for in-house tasks and contractor support
  • Creating and maintaining preventive maintenance plans to ensure long-term building performance
  • Coordinating and overseeing contractors and service providers to ensure quality and timely completion of work
  • Conducting regular site inspections to identify maintenance needs and track progress
  • Monitoring inventory, tools, and supplies to ensure smooth operations
  • Enforcing health, safety, and building code compliance across all maintenance activity

Required Skillsets

  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to delegate tasks, oversee contractors, and support a small team
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Respectful and professional when interacting with residents, staff, and vendors
  • Ability to work independently, follow directions, and adapt to changing priorities
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to high-quality workmanship
  • Comfortable working on-call, during emergencies, or extended hours as needed

EducationExperience

  • High school diploma or equivalent; trade certification or technical training is a strong asset
  • 5-7 years of progressive maintenance experience, including 1-3 years in a supervisory or team lead role
  • Solid working knowledge of building systems, including plumbing, electrical, and mechanical repairs
  • Familiarity with the proper use of tools, equipment, materials, and supplies used in general maintenance work
  • Valid BC driver's license and clean driving record; access to a reliable vehicle may be required
  • Must pass a criminal background check
