About the role

Position description

The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Mount Allison University invites applications to teach COMP 1631 Introduction to Computer Science in Winter 2026. This is a stipendiary (part-time) appointment to be offered at Mount Allison in Sackville, subject to budgetary approval. Candidates must have an MSc or PhD in Computer Science or related field and be able to show a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching.

Classes begin January 7th and conclude April 8th, 2025 with the exam period following. Class will meet Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., with an anticipated enrolment of approximately 25 students. COMP 1631 makes extensive use of an active learning model and experience with such a pedagogical approach is considered an asset. We are also moving towards including ethics across the curriculum and presently this includes COMP 1631.
