The Planner/Scheduler is responsible for the development and maintenance of well-defined project schedules for assigned construction projects at the pre-construction and construction phases. Essentially, the Planner/Scheduler will work with the project bid team and estimating to develop a strategy for delivery and gain buy-in; be responsible for the integrity of the schedule and implement the information provided by the project team; maintain the schedule and advise the project team on performance as well as own findings, observations and recommendations.

This position is based out of Tiverton, ON

What you will be doing:

  • Review and analysis of contract documents to develop well-defined, realistic construction schedules, including preliminary schedules, during the procurement phase.
  • Work with the Operations team to refine and develop the preliminary master schedule in accordance with the contract documents and further detailing the sequence of all work to be performed.
  • Support development of the most effective tracking process and mechanisms to be utilized during the construction phase.
  • Analyze, trend and track project progress; communicate the progress to the project team.
  • Track and document schedule impacts and assist with delay analysis.
  • Communicate the reasons for schedule variances and propose work-around plans.
  • Prepare a final report for the project team highlighting successes and failures encountered throughout construction for inclusion within the project closeout and lessons learned report.

What we are looking for:

  • Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or similar and a minimum 5 years of experience in a similar position
  • Strong Primavera P6 and MS Project skills
  • Must be familiar with the entire construction process from procurement, construction, close-out, equipment, installation, and commissioning activities
  • Solid knowledge of building construction methods and techniques
  • Must be able to work consistently at a fast pace and on multiple assignments concurrently
