The Energy Efficiency Key Account Manager is responsible for promoting the Save On Energy Business Retrofit Program to secure Program participation in their assigned commercial and industrial accounts within their assigned geographical region. This role will help customer identify energy saving opportunities, align with the Program rules, and help customers achieve incentives for undertaking energy-saving retrofits. This role will also provide technical support and guidance through energy savings initiatives, including administration and application support. This role also engages and develops local trade ally networks including contractors, suppliers, associations, etc. for the purpose of promoting and securing participation in the Program.
Successful Candidates must reside in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) of Ontario, preferably in Brampton/Guelph area. This is a mostly remote role working from home, with frequent road travel (2-3 days per week) in the Brampton and Guelph area is expected and an important part of driving results in this role. Candidates must have a valid driving license in Ontario and their own reliable vehicle; mileage will be reimbursed.

- Identify and develop energy-saving projects with customers, key accounts, and trade allies to meet energy-reduction and Program application/participation targets.
- Build and execute strategic account plans, managing multi-level relationships.
- Support Save On Energy Retrofit incentive applications, ensuring technical, economic, and eligibility requirements are met.
- Have a sales or outreach background, with proven results engaging an assigned territory to meet sales targets.
- Experience using a Salesforce CRM to track and manage your sales pipeline.
- Training and utilization of a sales methodology i.e. Sandler or similar.
- Existing contacts in the Brampton and Guelph area in commercial and industrial facilities and/or the trade allies that serve those facilities.
- Achieve assigned energy savings targets.
- Cultivate strategic relationships with industry associations and key influencers.
- Identify and promote energy efficiency measures within assigned accounts.
- Provide market intelligence and strategic insights.
- Prepare and deliver tailored presentations and proposals.
- Attend industry events and perform additional duties as needed.
In this exciting career opportunity, you will have…
- 5+ years in commercial energy efficiency.
- Technical degree (3-4 years) or equivalent experience in energy efficiency.
- Preferred designations: P.Eng, B.Eng, B.Sc., CEM, and/or CET.
- Based in/near Brampton or Guelph, Ontario.
- Strong influence and negotiation skills.
- Passionate advocate for energy efficiency, focused on technology solutions.
- Proven record in achieving energy savings targets.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills; effective with all management levels and external contacts.
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Industrial service experience with a focus on growth and customer service; engineering services background preferred.
Targeted Salary:
$45-$48 per hour
