What is the opportunity:
Reporting to the Regional Manager, this position is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to Energy Safety Canada’s stakeholders, which include students, instructors and clients. Assist in maintaining the company's health and safety program, as well as assisting the Regional Manager in implementing safety initiatives and programs. Work in unison with staff and directly participate in assigned projects and programs.
What will you do:
- Assist with the overall daily operations of the Fort St. John Office, including opening and closing the office, responding to clients’ inquiries via phone, email or in-person, scheduling meetings as required, and handling financial transactions.
- Health and Safety: Support stakeholders in their safety needs and concerns. This could include COR, WCB performance, and regulatory understanding. Assist in maintaining and updating health and safety as required. Support the development and distribution of safety communications and materials. Support the Regional Manager in implementing safety initiatives and programs.
- Maintenance of Stakeholder records: Maintain accurate records of Stakeholder visits and take and maintain committee meeting minutes. Assist in the preparation of reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist with arranging logistics for any meetings, workshops or courses that are hosted in the FSJ area, including room bookings, audio and IT equipment, catering, etc.
- Project Work: works on assigned inter-departmental initiatives to support department priorities, as required.
- Other duties as required
What you need to succeed:
- Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) diploma or working towards education in the safety field
- 1 – 2 years’ experience working in an administrative role and/or health and safety role
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, Outlook and SharePoint)
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Able to handle sensitive information with discretion
- Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within an office environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills required.
- Excellent Customer Service and relationship-building skills, with an attention to patience and professionalism required
- Demonstrated ability to work well as part of a team
- Must be able to work in a multi-task environment that is deadline-driven and has a high volume of work
- Data entry experience with a focus on accuracy and troubleshooting an asset
