Position Title: Production Supervisor (Meat Cutting)
Location: Saanichton, BC, V8M 1Z7
Starting Minimum: $26/hour
Job Type: Full Time Permanent
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor will be accountable for the processing and production of Meat Products at B&C Food Solutions. They will achieve this through working alongside and leading a team of production workers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervising production staff in the meat production room.
- Managing staff scheduling, workload, and overtime requirements.
- Quality control & assurance for all products coming into the meat production room and going out of the meat production room after further processing.
- Managing frozen production items – portions, sausages, grinds etc.
- Coordinating with the Production Manager when Fresh and Frozen inventories are low or out of stock.
- Responsible for managing the requisitions in and out of the meat production room on all (Fresh & Frozen) inventories.
- Ensuring that an accurate inventory is showing in the (W.I.P) Sections – “Work in Progress” and that they are kept up to date with (Production Codes/Dates/Product Information).
- Oversee that the HACCP Plan is followed by all employees in the meat production room and that all HACCP Paperwork is filled out daily and logged accordingly in our meat Production HACCP Folder.
- Oversee and uphold the Meat Room Production “Standard Operating Procedure” is followed by all meat production staff and work with the Production Manager on implementing new procedures that will help impact the room on efficiencies and effectiveness.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
- 1-2 years Supervisory experience in a similar industry.
- Knowledge of beef, pork, and lamb cuts.
- Physical ability to perform production tasks in a meat processing environment.
- Organized, Strategic thinker that can communicate tasks and expectations effectively.
- Must be willing to work any shift when required.
- Cutting experience would be considered an asset.
- Good leadership abilities and effective communication skills.
- Being able to work as a team & actively participate in all room tasks (Cutting, Portioning, Grinding, Packing, Etc.).
- Willingness to work with raw meat products.
- Willingness to work in a cold environment.
- Ability to perform physical tasks requiring lifting, carrying, and moving objects weighing 30+ lbs. safely and effectively.
- Physical fitness and stamina to sustain prolonged periods of activity, repetitive movements, and manual labor.
- Previous work experience is an asset but not required.
- Training will be provided.
