About the Role

This role will be responsible for creating, modifying, managing, overseeing and optimizing project timelines on Primavera and OPC(Oracle Primavera Cloud) within a large-scale construction project for a battery industrial facility. This role focuses on evaluating, tracking, analyzing, and creating project timelines with all related stakeholders to ensure the project aligns with strategic milestones. The Sr. Timeline Specialst will work closely on project budgets and also present and clearly state the project timeline to the relevant stakeholders (Construction Project Manager, Construction Sr. Manager, PMO and area Director), enabling informed decision-making and process enhancements to meet project goals efficiently.

This position is in-person and located in the charming town of St. Thomas ON.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain and optimize detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 and/or Oracle Primavera Cloud from the planning phase to project completion.

  • Ensure all construction activities for the battery manufacturing facility are integrated into a strategic master schedule, including site preparation, infrastructure, utilities, and equipment installation.

  • Conduct ongoing analysis of project progress updating the schedule regularly to reflect real-time progress, including delays, changes in scope, or resource shortages.

Provide early warnings, recommendations and detailed reports on schedule performance, highlighting critical tasks and activities that may affect project delivery.

  • Proactively identify and forecast potential schedule risks , opportunities and trends such as weather delays, material shortages , or labour constrains that could impact the project's completion.

  • Develop actionable strategies and contingency plans in advance.

  • Work with the project team and contractors to address scheduling issues, suggest corrective actions, and revise the schedule as necessary.

  • Evaluate the impact of project scope changes and change orders on the master timeline, and provide scenario-based recommendations to the project manager and stakeholders.Assess the impact of change orders on the project schedule and provide recommendations to the project manager and stakeholders.

  • Update the schedule to include commissioning activities for the facility and the final handover process, ensuring the schedule reflects all steps needed to bring the facility online.

  • Ensure that the procurement and logistics teams are aligned with the project schedule, ensuring timely delivery of materials and equipment required for the battery manufacturing facility.

  • Align time schedule with project budgets closely and track cost performance, ensuring budget adherence through effective forecasting.

  • Proactively suggest adjustments to work plans and resource allocations to optimize timelines.

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement by sharing insights, successes, and lessons learned with the team.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices and standardize time scheduling methodologies.

  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with the Construction Project Manager and relevant stakeholders.

  • Act as the primary contact for timeline-related inquiries, providing data-driven insights to support decision-making.

What you bring to the Team

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or some other construction-related field of study, or equivalent.

  • 10+ years working in the construction industry (i.e., engineering-, architecture-, or construction-related, or equivalent), preferably with execution of industrial facilities.

  • Experience working specifically on large projects.

  • Exceptional organizational and analytical skills with high attention to detail.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective reporting and coordination.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

  • Can read and understand construction drawings and specifications.

  • Understands the nuances of the design and construction process.

  • Able to work safely on an active construction site in accordance with the Health & Safety Plan.
