**IT Operations Analyst - Infrastructure
Salary Range: $58,000 - $82,000
Location: Prince George, BC, or near one of our locations in Alberta** As an IT Operations Analyst at Drax, you will be responsible for executing processes and procedures within the technology tower, as well as researching and supporting planning activities within the Drax IT environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure infrastructure availability meets service levels through proactive monitoring, resilient design, and capacity planning.
- Recommend and implement technology lifecycle mitigation initiatives.
- Define and document processes that ensure performant, scalable, secure technologies compliant with regulations, in collaboration with the IT compliance team.
- Identify risks, anticipate issues, and create solutions for project and service delivery.
- Collaborate with the Cyber Security team to identify and remediate vulnerabilities.
- Develop low-level technical designs based on high-level frameworks.
- Support management of third-party suppliers and contracts.
- Contribute to budget forecasting for effective environmental management.
- Participate in IT Service Management (ITSM) processes, including Change, Incident, and Problem Management.
- Evaluate technology use to ensure cost-effective solutions and support business cases for investments.
- Collaborate with the Architect Team to align development roadmaps with company goals.
- Act as a consultant for IT projects, ensuring strategic alignment.
- Manage IT Disaster Recovery capabilities and conduct regular testing.
- Stay updated on technology trends and vendor roadmaps.
- Maintain strong relationships with technology partners and suppliers.
- Contribute to operational and governance reporting.
- Promote a customer-centric service delivery approach.
- Perform additional relevant duties as needed.
About You Required skills and knowledge for software products and services include:
- Proficiency in Windows Server 2012, Microsoft Azure, Active Directory, Office 365, Microsoft Exchange, VPN, SQL Server, SharePoint, Data Protection Manager, Hyper-V virtualization, Terminal Services, Cisco networking, and Check Point Firewalls.
- Understanding and respect for Change Control processes.
- Experience with third-party vendors and support organizations.
- Familiarity with industry standards, security, and disaster recovery.
- Practical experience in troubleshooting hardware and software issues, along with strong analytical skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication abilities.
- Active participation in team meetings and discussions, whether in-person or virtual.
- Leadership skills when needed, and the ability to convey ideas to different technical audiences.
- Experience in documenting procedures and creating learning materials.
- Self-motivated with a customer service focus.
- Awareness of IT industry trends and technologies that can enhance the business.
- Knowledge of industrial manufacturing networks (PLC) is a bonus.

- Ability to work in production-type environments
