Introduction Educational Assistants provide support to students who are identified through the program planning process as requiring support with medical and personal care and/or safety/behaviour management. The position will require supporting students with a wide range of social/behavioural and cognitive abilities. Additionally, Educational Assistants will also be required to support basic medical/personal care and behavioural/safety support (including but not limited to personal hygiene, diabetes care, tube feeding, catheterization, running, lifting and positioning, personal care, toileting, feeding).
Minimum Requirements - High school completion certificate or equivalent - Recognized diploma or certificate program from a recognized post secondary institution including a formal practicum placement - Current Standard First-Aid certification with CPR Level C. (The course must meet Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) and Workplace First Aid (WFA) standards to comply with the CSA Z1210-17 Standards). - Ability to perform physical requirements of the position
