Position Overview

The Surveyor at Professional Excavators & Construction Inc. is responsible for measuring, mapping, and determining precise locations on construction sites to ensure accurate construction layout and adherence to design specifications. This role involves operating surveying instruments, analyzing data, and collaborating with project teams to facilitate successful project completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct field surveys using specialized equipment such as total stations, GPS (trimble), and levels to collect accurate data on site conditions.

• Prepare and maintain detailed survey records, maps, and reports.

• Verify and mark project sites to guide excavation and construction activities.

• Collaborate with engineers and project managers to interpret plans and ensure construction aligns with specifications.

• Set out reference points and benchmarks required for construction activities.

• Ensure all surveying activities comply with safety regulations and company procedures.

• Maintain surveying equipment and report any malfunctions or repairs needed.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a surveyor in construction or civil engineering projects.

• Proficiency in using surveying tools and technologies (e.g., GPS, total stations, levels).

• Strong mathematical and analytical skills to interpret survey data accurately.

• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints.

• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various job sites.

• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with project teams.
