Description:
We are looking for a Senior Accountant who thrives in a fast-paced environment to join our Restaurant Accounting Team, working with our Chop Steakhouse & Bar & Rockford brands. This position will report to the Controller, Restaurant Division.
Responsibilities
- Lead full cycle accounting responsibilities ensuring accurate and timely results are provided to the business
- Prepare monthly profit and loss statements and various other reports
- Liaise with operations management on accounting issues
- Responsible for complex balance sheet reconciliations
- Prepare and calculate regular tax filings (GST, PST, LST, Sales & Use Tax)
- Maintain effective internal controls, identify risks and propose recommendations for required control changes as necessary
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements, prioritizing automation where possible.
- Build great working relationships with the business to promote synergies
- Support the annual external financial statement audits and tax filing requirements
- Perform other accounting duties as required
Role Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required
- CPA designation, or equivalent
- Experience in full-cycle accounting role with a strong working knowledge of GAAP
- Strong financial analysis skills and independent problem solving
- Exceptional time management and multi-tasking skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and work within established deadlines and time constraints
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to have fun and be a great team player
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel and ERP systems (Experience with Microsoft D365 Finance & Operations, Power BI & Planful would be considered an asset)
