The Position -
WF Steel and Crane is looking for an Entry Level Detailer/Drafter who is interested in growing their career in the Overheard Crane Industry. We offer competitive wages with overtime, benefits and RRSP Matching.
The Ideal Candidate -
The ideal candidate would have 1-2 years of experience in design/drafting using Autocad and Tekla Softwares, as well as a Diploma in Engineering Design or Drafting Technology. In this role, you will gain a strong understanding of structural steel and crane fabrication processes and industry standards. You will work independently, as well as part of a team. We are looking for a candidate with strong organizational skills manage and prioritize daily tasks and activities efficiently. You will be an excellent fit for the role if you can demonstrate initiative and have a proactive nature. Candidates must be Canadian Citizens or have the ability to legally work in Canada without employer sponsorship.
Responsibilities –
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to create detailed shop drawings for steel structures.
- Utilize Tekla Software to produce accurate and comprehensive steel fabrication drawings.
- Interpret engineering plans to ensure compliance with design specifications.
- Generate bills of materials (BOMs) and material take-offs.
- Review and check drawings for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project requirements.
- Coordinate with the production team to ensure smooth fabrication and assembly processes.
- Communicate effectively both written and verbally in the English Language
