About the job:
Kent is looking for a Field Coordinator. The Field Coordinator serves as the primary interface between the Engineering team and the field (fabrication, construction, commissioning, and vendor shop teams). This role is responsible for identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving technical issues that arise during fabrication, construction, and/or commissioning. The coordinator ensures timely responses to RFIs (Requests for Information), expedites the closure of technical queries, and maintains clear communication with all stakeholders to support project delivery.

Technical Issue Resolution
- Act as the single point of contact for field teams regarding engineering-related technical issues.
- Investigate and troubleshoot technical problems encountered during fabrication, construction, commissioning or at vendor shops.
- Coordinate with Kent and or IOL engineering disciplines to obtain timely and accurate resolutions.
RFI Management
- Receive, track, and prioritize RFIs from contractors and field personnel.
- Facilitate fast-tracked responses by liaising with Kent and or IOL engineering teams.
- Ensure all RFIs are documented and closed out efficiently.
Stakeholder Communication
- Provide regular updates to the key project managers, construction leads, commissioning leads and Kent and or IOL engineering teams on the status of technical issues and RFIs.
- Prepare and distribute technical issue logs and resolution reports.
- Escalate critical issues to appropriate stakeholders when necessary.
Field Support
- Attend site meetings and walkdowns to understand field conditions and constraints.
- Support Fabrication, construction teams (including Contractors), and commissioning teams with interpretation of engineering drawings and specifications.
- Ensure engineering deliverables are constructible and aligned with field realities.
Vendor Shop Coordination
- Liaise with vendor shops to resolve fabrication-related technical queries.
- Ensure vendor compliance with engineering specifications and standards.
- Coordinate inspections and technical clarifications as needed.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of all technical issues, RFIs, and decisions/ resolutions.
- Generate weekly reports summarizing field coordination activities.
- Contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives.
In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.
Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:
Knowledge/Qualification/Training/Certification:
- Degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in field engineering coordination or construction support.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings, specifications, and construction practices.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in project management tools and RFI tracking systems.
Communication:
- Excellent command of the English language in both oral and written communication and skills.
Behavior/ Core Competencies:
- Demonstrates proactive problem-solving by taking ownership of technical issues, driving timely resolutions, and maintaining calm, confident judgment under pressure.
- Communicates clearly and collaboratively with all stakeholders, ensuring accurate information flow, timely escalation, and strong alignment between engineering and field teams.
