Introduction Our client is seeking a Bilingual Communications Officer (Lead) who is fluent in English and French and is passionate about delivering meaningful communications that engage diverse audiences. This full-time, permanent opportunity is ideal for an experienced communications professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment, leading strategic initiatives, and contributing to the long-term success of a respected national organization.

Compensation: $90,000 to $95,000 annually

What You'll Do As Bilingual Communications Officer (Lead), you will help shape and deliver strategic communications that support organizational priorities. You will create engaging bilingual content, lead communication initiatives across multiple channels, collaborate with internal stakeholders, and help strengthen relationships with external audiences. You will also provide leadership to a small team while ensuring projects are delivered with accuracy, consistency, and professionalism.

Responsibilities Develop and implement strategic communications plans that support organizational objectives. Create, edit, and manage high-quality content in both English and French across digital and traditional communication channels. Lead integrated communications campaigns and evaluate their effectiveness using reporting and performance metrics. Collaborate with internal teams to develop communication strategies for key initiatives and projects. Coordinate translation services and ensure the quality and consistency of bilingual communications. Support media relations activities, including media materials, inquiries, and interview preparation. Assist with planning and promoting conferences, events, and stakeholder engagement initiatives. Provide guidance, mentorship, and day-to-day leadership to a direct report while fostering collaboration across teams.

Qualifications Fluent in both English and French, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both languages. University degree or college diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, or a related field. Minimum of seven years of progressive communications experience. Strong experience developing strategic communications, content creation, media relations, and stakeholder engagement. Proven project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Experience leading or mentoring team members is considered an asset. Experience within professional associations, non-profit organizations, or financial services environments is considered an asset.
