Your Opportunity:

Ready to make a difference in healthcare? Join us as a Pharmacy Assistant in Peter Lougheed Centre (PLC), where you'll support pharmacists, healthcare professionals, correctional staff, and external partners in providing essential pharmaceutical care to support safe and effective patient care. Working in a secure environment under the supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician, you’ll help prepare and distribute medications using automated and computerized systems. As a Pharmacy Assistant, your duties include medication preparation, repackaging, administrative and customer service tasks such as answering phones, assisting customers, and data entry. Other responsibilities include accurate stocking of medication carts, receiving Pharmacy Department orders, accurate record keeping, communicating with nursing staff, and delivery of pharmaceuticals throughout the hospital. We are looking for an individual who is a motivated, self-directed team player who thrives both independently and collaboratively. This role involves walking and standing for long periods of time, lifting up to 30 lbs regularly (and occasionally up to 50 lbs), repetitive bending, pushing, pulling, twisting, and carrying. Flexible availability of working including weekdays, evenings, and weekends is required. In a refocused healthcare system, AHS plays an integral role in delivering high-quality acute care services to more than 4.5 million people living in Alberta, as well as occasionally to some residents of other provinces and territories. We are a nation-leading hospital-based service provider operating 106 facilities across the province and we are dedicated to excellence in patient care. Showcase your leadership skills at AHS, where we strive to foster an environment where patients, clients, and staff feel safe, healthy, valued and supported.
