About the role
A career as a Legal Advisor Analyst within the Specialized Transactions and Products team, which is a part of Capital Markets division at National Bank, means acting as an expert advisor for the structured products sector and ensuring that business practices comply with Canadian regulations. This role allows you to make a positive impact on our organization through your knowledge of the securities regulatory framework and your ability to work with rigor and attention to detail.
Your Role

Participate in all stages of the development and marketing of structured products

Draft prospectuses and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including those in taxation and accounting

Issue legal opinions to support business decisions

Ensure that business practices in the sector comply with Canadian regulations

Analyze and review various legal reports and documents to protect the Bank’s rights

Make recommendations on the development and marketing of products to manage risks for the Bank and its subsidiaries
Your Team
Within the Specialized Transactions and Products sector, you will be part of a team made up of lawyers and paralegals. You report to the Manager, Specialized Transactions and Products. Our team stands out for its efficiency, availability, expertise, creativity, and dynamism. We collaborate daily with financial engineers who structure financial products.

Prerequisites
- Bachelor’s degree in law and Member of the Barreau du Québec for 1 to 3 years
- In-depth knowledge of the regulatory and corporate framework for securities
- Master the functioning of financial markets and show interest in the sector
- Experience drafting commercial agreements
- Know the Canadian regulatory context regarding registration and compliance of securities stakeholders
Languages:
English, French
