About the Opportunity

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides comprehensive clinical care to patients in a designated service or program areas. The NP partners with and complements other members of the health care team for the achievement of person and family‑centered care. The NP as the most responsible healthcare provider (MRHCP), works autonomously to diagnose, order, and interpret laboratory tests, order and interpret reports of diagnostic imaging investigations, prescribe pharmaceuticals, and perform procedures. The NP provides direct care and partners with other members of the health care team for the achievement of the most appropriate and timely care for patients. working autonomously or in collaboration with other members of the team, the NP provides care for and monitors the physical/biologic, psychologic, and spiritual needs of patients and integrates these into holistic care plans engaging as appropriate with family, community, and other agencies/services.

The NP adheres to the NSCN Standards for Nursing Practice and the Code of Ethics and is responsible and accountable at all times for their own practice consistent with relevant legislation, and professional, and ethical standards. The NP is accountable to identify, analyze, and evaluate activities that are reflective of the quality improvement initiatives.

About You

  • Masters' of Nursing – Advanced Nursing Practice stream
  • Registered with the Nova Scotia College Nurses with active‑practicing status, with a license to practice as an NP in Nova Scotia or eligible for registration
  • Current certification in BCLS or willing to obtain

Compensation

$59.47 - $69.52 Hourly

$71.96 with 25 years of NP experience

Canada Student Loan Forgiveness Program

If you are a Nurse Practitioner and you qualify, you could also receive up to $30,000 in Canada Student Loan forgiveness over a maximum of five years.
