Position Overview: The Automation and Data Analyst at Finning Canada is responsible for designing and implementing automated workflows and data-driven solutions that enhance operational efficiency and align with business goals. This role integrates robotic process automation (RPA), data analysis, and system support to streamline internal processes and drive continuous improvement. You will analyze business processes, identify automation opportunities, and support the design, development, and implementation of RPA solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive efficiency, reduce manual effort, and enhance data-driven decision-making.

  • For this position, the expected salary range is between $75,000 and $85,000 annually. This range reflects our commitment to providing competitive compensation that aligns with industry standards and your qualifications.

Job Description: Major Job Functions:

  • Automation Development:

  • Build and maintain automated workflows using UiPath and Python to reduce manual effort.

  • Deploy and monitor automation processes via UiPath Orchestrator, ensuring optimal performance.

  • Document automation steps and provide user training on implemented solutions.

  • Data Analysis:

  • Write SQL queries to extract and manipulate data for analysis.

  • Automate data collection and cleansing using Python or similar tools.

  • Develop basic reports or dashboards (Excel, Power BI) to support decision-making.

  • System Administration:

  • Manage user access, schedule automated jobs, and monitor system performance.

  • Troubleshoot automation scripts and data pipelines, coordinating with IT as needed.

  • Perform routine maintenance and ensure compliance with IT security standards.

Must-Have Skills:

  • Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field.
  • Proficiency in Python for automation and data processing.
  • Hands-on experience with UiPath (Studio, Orchestrator, REFramework).
  • Strong SQL skills for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Ability to design, build, and deploy automated workflows.
  • Data analysis and reporting experience (Excel, Power BI).
  • Basic system administration and troubleshooting skills.
  • Understanding of IT security and compliance standards.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • UiPath RPA Developer Certification or equivalent.
  • Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst or similar credential.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps).
  • Familiarity with data warehousing and ETL concepts.
  • Exposure to statistical analysis or data mining techniques.
  • Knowledge of process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma).
  • Experience with reporting and visualization tools beyond Power BI (e.g., Tableau).
  • Ability to train and support end-users on automation tools.
