Role and Facility Information
We are seeking two full-time family physicians – Obstetrics to join our collaborative team providing comprehensive prenatal care and shared call at Burnaby Hospital. We are a collegial group who work closely with our Obstetrician and midwifery groups. We are looking for a physician who is passionate about obstetrics, values teamwork, and is committed to both patient care and medical education.
This role involves providing full-scope primary care obstetrics, including prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care, within a supportive, team-based environment. Call responsibilities are shared and well-supported by OBGYN and Pediatrics specialists, ensuring safe, high-quality care for both patients and providers.
In addition to clinical duties, the position includes a strong academic component. The successful candidate will be involved in teaching and mentoring medical learners, including Year 4 medical students (MSI) and R1/R2 Family Practice residents. This is an excellent opportunity for those with an interest in education and contributing to the development of future physicians.
Burnaby Hospital is a community 286-bed hospital with a Level 2 nursery (>32 wk gestational age) and manages close to 1,400 births per year. ER, Anesthesia, pediatrics and obstetrics deliver 24/7 call services. Our hospital provides an exceptional team that works well together in a collegial community setting. We are also very excited for the redevelopment of the hospital currently underway.
Anticipated start date is June 1, 2026 or sooner.
Please submit a letter of interest, a copy of your CV, cover letter and three letters of reference or contact referees’ names by no later than May 7, 2026. Provisional license is acceptable and supervision available for US board certified physicians.
