THE POSITION
Reporting to the Director and Manager of Event Operations, the Event Operations Intern will be responsible to assist with the daily coordination and execution of special events and event operations assigned on behalf of the Calgary Flames, Calgary Stampeders, Calgary Roughnecks, Calgary Hitmen, Calgary Wranglers and Live Entertainment. The internship program will run from Sept 15th, 2025 through April 30th, 2026.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Provide assistance to the Events Department with the planning and execution of existing CSEC and related events. This includes coordination of event logistics such as; event briefs, floorplans, rentals, décor etc.

Assist with external vendors as it relates to game day and special events including site visits, event load-in, day of execution, and post event strike.

Assist with event detailing, work orders, task assignments within VenueOps as it pertains to assigned events.

Provide leadership to the events department part-time staff and volunteers.

Provide general event support for Calgary Flames, Calgary Stampeders, Calgary Hitmen, Calgary Wranglers, Calgary Roughnecks community activations and street team promotion within Calgary and its surrounding communities.

Actively participate in safety programs and follow policies;

Other duties as required.
THE INDIVIDUAL
The ideal individual will have the following background:

Working toward a bachelor’s degree in marketing, physical education, sport management, event management or related fields.

Must be available at a minimum of 15 hours per standard work week (Monday-Friday) and requires occasional evening and weekend work, up to 20 hours total.

Must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain positive and supportive working relationships.

Have excellent written and verbal communication skills and professional demeanor.

Must be willing and able to multi-task and work independently.

While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, run, reach, kneel.

Nature of the position requires unlimited physical mobility and the ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs.

ProServe license would be considered an asset.

Internship requires a reliable source of transportation as some events are off site.
This position will remain open until 3:00pm Friday, August 29th, 2025.
