Cornwall Community Hospital (CCH) is an acute care hospital located in Cornwall, Ontario along the scenic St. Lawrence River. CCH provides a full range of acute inpatient, outpatient and community mental health services to a catchment area of 100,000 people from the communities of Cornwall, the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry and to the Mohawk community of Akwesasne.

Summary of responsibilities
This position will report to the Allied Health Manager and Director. The successful candidate will provide quality Occupational Therapy (OT) services within a client-centered framework. You will determine the physical, psychosocial, perceptual, cognitive and functional status of patients through administration of formal assessments. You will co-create with input from the interdisciplinary team, care plans to enhance overall patient function while in hospital and to support discharge. You will provide education to patients and their families to support timely, safe discharge to all community settings. You will provide support and education to Students and Interdisciplinary Team members as needed as an OT subject matter expert, and participate in interdisciplinary rounds as necessary, team meetings, and committee meetings. You will support the ongoing development and evolution of the Allied Health program. You will practice in accordance with the Standards of Professional Practice and Code of Ethics as outlined by the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO), and by policies and procedures set out by Cornwall Community Hospital (CCH).
Requirements of the job

B.Sc or M.Sc. in Occupational Therapy
-
Registered and a member in good standing with COTO
-
ADP authorizer an asset
-
Minimum one-year experience in inpatient general medicine, surgical acute care, OR rehabilitation
-
Experience with psychosocial, cognitive, perceptual, and physical health assessments and interventions.
-
Demonstrated ability to manage caseload volumes, competing priorities, and time
-
Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment
-
Excellent oral, written, and electronic communication and interpersonal skills required
-
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 suite of tools (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, One Drive)
-
Electronic Medical Record experience
-
Good critical thinking and problem-solving skills required
-
Demonstrated regular, punctual attendance
-
Demonstrated commitment to patient safety
-
Team Player
-
Functional level in both official languages (oral and written in English; oral in French – and testing completed)
Asset:
- Member in CAOT or OSOT
- ADP authorizer
- Change management experience
